How Partnering Works
UWO campus in Oshkosh, WI, the city where our partners Resurrection Presbyterian and Living Stone reside.
Ministry Partnership Structure
Churches can partner in the four core interactive classes, developing lay counseling/mentoring ministries individual counseling, and/or consultation. We utilize curriculum and methods developed by the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation.
The four classes offer targeting discipleship of the whole body of Christ in heart change.
Mentoring/Counseling Methods (for those identified with potential by leaders)
Support groups/classes can also be planned and leaders developed as needed. Examples include GriefShare, Parenting, Purity Groups, DivorceCare, Marriage Building, or Steps Substance Recovery.
Gifted counselors/mentors can be raised up, and participating churches can host counseling sessions, supervised by RCM under the oversight of the church leadership.
RCM counseling services can be offered for hard cases (limited for non-local churches), and RCM provides free consultation to church leaders.
Churches can participate in whatever way works best for them.
Where to Begin
Reach out to RCM to set up a meeting or phone call with Tony. We can talk more about the specifics of the ministry and how it could fit your context. Churches are free to use the classes in any way they like, or to just partner in counseling and consultation (or just the classes). The cost is reduced by 60-70% for smaller churches (250 attendance or under). The only limiting factor is our availability. If a church would like to explore partnering, please reach out to set up a meeting. If classes and/or counseling are planned, Tony can visit on a Sunday to introduce the ministry, share briefly with the church about what we will be doing and help recruit for classes (if those are being done).
If a mentoring or lay counseling ministry is developed, the church owns the shape of this ministry, and the ultimate oversight. RCM provides direct oversight of la counselor under the authority of a church leader. A church leader also oversees any personal counseling he does, and it is done as a ministry of the church. RCM is able to provide assistance with forms and structure of the ministry, so it meets insurance/legal requirements and is consistent with best practices for church-based counseling ministries.
